Capturing the Soul: The Hermetic Art of Spagyrics – Egypt

853 853 people viewed this event.

Join us in Cairo, Egypt, for a three-day immersion dedicated to the Soul of the plants — their anima, where the foundations of Spagyrics unfold through philosophy and practice.

This workshop offers a living introduction to the art and science of Spagyric extraction — a path that unites hands-on laboratory work with a deeper understanding of nature’s intelligence.

Through guided distillations, discussions, and reflections, we will explore how to capture the most subtle and volatile principles of life — the aromatic soul of the plants — and preserve them in forms that hold both beauty and vitality.

You will learn to work with:
Essential oil distillation (complete extraction)
Aromatic waters
Oleolites (oil infusions)
Melites (honey infusions)

This workshop serves as an introduction to Spagyric philosophy and practice, offering a tangible experience of the anima as the bridge between matter and spirit — the place where fragrance becomes medicine and transformation reveals the hidden virtues of nature.

🌿 Meet Your Teachers 🌿

Carlos Roberto Gallo (Índio)
A Brazilian master of Spagyrics and co-founder of the Escola de Espagiria, Brazil. With decades of laboratory practice and training under Italian alchemist Stefano Stefani, he carries a rare Hermetic lineage. His work preserves authentic spagyric methods of creating quintessences, magisteria, and elixirs in the ancient alchemical tradition.

Mauricio Rezende
A Brazilian therapist, acupuncturist, and teacher of Spagyrics in Bali and Portugal. Trained with Stefano Stefani and Índio Gallo, Mauricio bridges Egyptian astrology, Chinese medicine, and plant alchemy — guiding students to reconnect body, spirit, and cosmos through hands-on practice.

Carol Da Riva (executive production)
A Brazilian photographer and storyteller, she has traveled the world documenting traditional and indigenous knowledge. In her search for natural medicine, she fell in love with spagyrics. Together with Indio and Mauricio, she co-founded Kermes School of Spagyrics, bringing this practice from Brazil to Bali, Portugal, and now Egypt. Her path has always been rooted in sustainability, permaculture, and agroforestry, values she deepened during her time at Green School Bali, where she co-founded and led The Bridge, the community’s learning center for almost a decade.

Cairo – At the Crossroads of History

Egypt has always been a land where heaven and earth mirror one another. Along the banks of the Nile, in its temples and star-aligned monuments, ancient peoples cultivated a vision of healing that united plants, planets, and the human soul. It was here that the Hermetic teachings of “As above, so below” were born, weaving together astronomy, medicine, and alchemy into a philosophy that shaped generations to come.

While Spagyrics as an art was later systematized by Paracelsus in Renaissance Europe, its inspiration reaches back to these Egyptian traditions. The Hermetic current that flowed from Alexandria carried with it a deep understanding of the elements, the planets, and the vital forces that animate life.

Cairo, with its vibrant pulse and proximity to timeless monuments, becomes the perfect backdrop for this immersion. Surrounded by the living memory of ancient wisdom, we reconnect with the roots of Spagyrics—not only as a laboratory practice but as a bridge between the cosmos, nature, and the healing of body, spirit, and soul.
